I’m writing a multi-part series of blogs for Alida Biosciences about RNA modifications and their impacts on the immune system and diseases.
This first one is focused on Immunology and Autoimmune diseases.

Executive Summary

RNA modifications such as m6A and A-to-I editing have critical roles in the regulation of immune cell function, inflammatory signaling, and the recognition of self versus non-self RNA. Emerging evidence suggests that these mechanisms may also provide new ways to characterize immune state, disease activity, and therapeutic response. This article introduces several of these mechanisms and their relevance to autoimmune disease. Future articles in this series will explore how RNA modifications contribute to other specific areas of immune disease biology.
